JoJo arrived home, weary and hungry.  He crept into the kitchen, hearing a few of his sisters upstairs.  Only half of them where home.  Carefully and quietly, JoJo grabbed an apple and hurried up the stairs to his room.  But he bumped into Sally, his mom, on the third floor.
“JoJo?  How was school, honey?'  She held a feather duster in each hand, and her hair was pulled back in a messy bun.  
He glanced up at her, then, feeling his checks begin to turn red, he ran.  He ran all the way to his room, biting his lip as her herd Sally call for him.  Her voice sounded pained, as if he had just driven a knife threw her heart.  JoJo locked the doors, tossed his back-pack on his bed, and unlocked the window.  He scrambled out, still holding his apple, and clambered onto the highest part of the roof.  JoJo sat down abruptly and grabbed his knees.  The traffic of the city seemed to rush past him faster than ever before.  Closing his eyes, the noise only became a loud buzz, never pausing for a breath.
JoJo tried to keep it all in, everything that was going threw him.  After several minutes, the tears began to run down his face, soaking into his fur.  He looks up, startled.  It had been so long since he cried.  He couldn't even remember how long ago it exactly was.  Angry at himself for showing weakness, he chunked the apple as far as he could, watching the red fruit grow smaller and smaller until it vanished.
The minutes that went by turned into hours.  Still, JoJo sat on the rooftop, crying.  He herd his mothers worried voice as she called for him to unlock the doors.  Even his sisters yelled for him to come down.  JoJo saw his fathers WhoMobile drive up to the house.  Not realizing that his son was curled up on the roof above him, the Mayor whistled all the way to the doorstep, happy as he could be.  He knocked on the door three times, the slipped in.  JoJo herd him announce his presence, and seconds later, a handful of the obnoxious girls squealing a calling for him.  The house shook a little as they all ran down stairs and attacked him, giggling and trying to tell him what they did that day.
“Your not going to stay out here all night, are you?”
JoJo spun his head around quickly to see Alyssa, his adopted sister, smiling down at him.  He covered his face and sniffed as sh sat down beside him, he smile fading.
“Have you been...crying?”
